Good to see your interest to install Linux on your desktop.

Basically it's Depends upto what are you interested in by installing linux. Right now 3 distros are on the pick which is Fedora, Ubuntu and OpenSuse. I am using fedora as it gives me RedHat like configuration. I am using it for my day to day work. I am also watching movies, listening to music, and sometimes playing games.

You can choose any of the 3 distos. You may need some other packages to be installed to enjoy music and movies.

Good luck.

Hi,

If you want a good multimedia kind of environment try Ubuntu or Linux Mint.... If you want to use it for developing something (Work Station) try Fedora....

Cheers,
Sri
