i wand to configure a proxy in my network...pls inform me about configuration files and all

Squid is good proxy server. It's configuration file come with the full of information. You can read it and configure it according to your requirement.

For basic configuration you need to configure :

1. http_porxy port
2. ACL to add and allow network
3. visible_hostname (optional)
