Title: enabling web caching in squid-2.6.STABLE21
Post by: jasembo on July 02, 2009, 01:57:24 PM
Greeting all,
I'd like to inquire if by default squid-2.6.STABLE21 acts as a www cache in acceleration mode and secondly, in squid documentation it is alleged that squid can handle https connections which if directed to squid proxy via iptables fail. This makes https pages inaccessible, would anyone kindly help me out on this?

FYI: Am running CentOS 5.3 and squid is running in transparent mode. The proxy server similarly acts as the internet gateway, iptables run on the same system.

Thanks

by default. squid cache to web content accessed by clients. You can have cache directory "/var/spool/squid". There are number of the files you will find there.
