Title: How to setup DNS server for local lan

Hi all,

Running REDHAT AS 4. I need to setup a local DNS server for LAN. Pls guide me as  a Big brother. :'(

btw... are you talking about caching name server or DNS for local lan hosts?

Mostly RH comes with caching name server setup installed so you need to only add entry in a resolv.conf

nameserver 127.0.0.1 & about DNS for hosts name then see the link given by Gaurav!
